The Packard plant used to produce cars. Now it produces art, both intentional and otherwise. Lots of local graffiti stars have painted the walls. Rodeo, and Toxic, and the turtle guy. Better still is the accidental art. Sometimes, walking around the factory, you'd swear you were in some contemporary art museum looking at installations. A room stacked with old tv's. A room piled with shoes. Artful piles of trash and debris. On the lower floors especially, the place is full of garbage. After a while, it's hard to pretend it's art, no matter how hard you try. In the end, you have to face the facts. That garbage is garbage, and that the Packard Motor Car plant, once one of the greatest factories in the greatest factory town on Earth, has become a landfill.
