Forgetting the Moon: Photograms + Films by Bill Brown + Sabine Gruffat

Inspired by the century-old rice shop that today houses Almost Perfect Gallery, Bill Brown & Sabine Gruffat use rice as a material resource for a series of photographs as well as a 16mm film loop. With a nod to early photographers Man Ray, László Moholy-Nagy, and others, this work explores the transformative possibilites of the photogram-- a camera-less photographic process-- to create formal abstractions from the ordinary and everyday.
